Type PLD

Area of Application:

Winding and unwinding of web materials in processing and finishing machines, textile machines, packaging machines, etc. Suitable for winding cores made of cardboard, plastic, metal, composites, or wood in all standard dimensions. Used as a center winder with drive and/or brake.

Function:

The pneumatic-mechanical safety clamping system uses a spring assembly to push the clamping bars – evenly distributed around the circumference- radially outward, thereby clamping a previously mounted winding core or spool with defined contact pressure.

An integrated pneumatic cylinder counteracts the spring force and, when pressurized with 6 bar of compressed air, moves the clamping bars inward to release the winding core.

Unintentional release of the winding core- e.g., due to pressure drop or leakage- is reliably prevented. The centrally expanding clamping bars ensure precise winding alignment and guarantee high concentricity.

Type QLD

The QLD operates on the same principle. However, the sleeves are clamped mechanically by operating a handle instead of pneumatically.
